A native Floridian, David Haynes was born in Gainesville and raised in Tallahassee. He earned a degree in Economics from Florida State University in 1992 before beginning his career in public service with the Florida Department of Revenue and the Department of Banking and Finance. David later transitioned into real estate in Tallahassee—first as an investor managing his own properties, and soon after as a licensed Realtor®.

In 2001, David relocated with his family to Little Gasparilla Island, where he launched what would become Tarpon Real Estate, Inc. and Tarpon Rental Services, specializing in coastal and island properties. His expertise includes the barrier island and waterfront communities of Little Gasparilla, Palm/Knight Island, Don Pedro Island, and Manasota Key, as well as Cape Haze, Placida, Rotonda, and Englewood.

David has been deeply involved in both the real estate industry and the local community. He has served as:

Board Director and Government Affairs Director for the Englewood Area Board of Realtors®

President of the Little Gasparilla Property Owners Association (LGPOA) for over seven years

Board Member of Little Gasparilla Island Fire & Rescue (LGIFR)

Board Member and Government Affairs Director for the local chapter of the Florida Restaurant & Lodging Association (FRLA)

Vice-Chairman, Charlotte County Tourist Development Council (TDC)
